Photos and Recap!
Hello, my sweet sweet chickadees!
For those of you who i saw on Saturday and at the bar-b-que yesterday, what an absolute TREAT it was to see each and every one of you. I had the most amazing time reconnecting with friends from the past, it really was an amazingly memorable night.
For those of you who were unable to make it, you were missed! We had a lot of people asking about various alums who were MIA, and I hope that you will be able to make it to the 20-year! (which, by the way, i am NOT planning! ha! someone else can take that one on!!!)
Here are a couple of photos from the night. Arthur Shore was also busy taking some amazing photos for our viewing pleasure, and i will post those, too, when i receive them.

IT'S FINALLY HERE!
REUNION WEEKEND!
It's Friday, which means TOMORROW is our reunion!!!!!
I can barely believe it. We've been working hard for almost TWO YEARS dreaming up how to make this night the most memorable EVER. We've had a few road blocks along the way, spent WAY too much money (we don't get paid for this, you know!) and reconnected with COUNTLESS classmates over the past 12 months, all leading up to this point.
I'm so so excited!
For those of you who have not purchased tickets yet, fear not. There will still be tickets available at the door. And if you have to come late for some reason, there will be discounted tickets available after 9.30pm.
Because there is a limited number of tickets available at the door, you can call 800 954-1044 to pay for yours with a credit card, to ensure your spot in our night of fun!

Your Frequently Asked Questions Answered!
Hello my fellow KHS Class of 1999 alums!
You’ll be happy to hear that the reunion is only 6 days away, after which you will not have to receive an email from me EVER AGAIN IN YOUR LIFE! I know, relief, right?? ;)
But, in the meantime, we’re getting down to the home stretch, and I have been getting a bunch of emails from peeps with some questions, and thought I’d address them to you all in case you had the same concerns.
Tomorrow is the FINAL DAY to buy tickets to the SECOND BIGGEST PARTY OF 2009 (1st biggest I’m guessing is probably the Academy Awards) and your ONE AND ONLY TEN YEAR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION! So, be sure to buy tickets before midnight tomorrow night so you don’t miss out on this adventure. I promise, it will be a night to remember. WE may even go streaking. Who knows. But it’s going to be great.
Yes, you can buy tickets at the door for those of you who love the last minute planning (Brandon, I’m pointing at YOU!)… HOWEVER, there are a LIMITED amount of tickets to be sold at the door, AND, you won’t get the cool nametags we’re making for everyone. And, you’ll be contributing to my gray hairs and anxiety about how much food and booze to get, SO, it pays to buy your tickets early. If you want to just call me and I can order for you, that works – 206.407.6567 or mandyhoov (at) hotmail (dot) com. I have an order form I can fill out for you. yay! easy as that.
There are no physical tickets. There is a list at the door and you will be on it! Totally VIP, i know.
Dress code is evening casual. Which means nothing, I know. So, ladies, I’m thinking nice dress (sundress or shift dress, no prom attire, up-do’s, free makeover at Nordies, or anything crazy like that!). Men, slacks and a nice shirt. No tie, suit jacket, or anything like that is required, it’s not Vegas. Just be comfortable! :)
The event is located at Sodo Pop, which is located directly across the street from the Starbucks Corporate Headquarters downtown, in SODO. There is street parking, some pay parking, and it shouldn’t be a problem. Event starts at 7pm and goes until midnight, when we will all make our way downtown to continue on partying into the night. Oh yes, Belltown won’t know what hit it.
No outside alcohol at the event please. I know, I sound like a teacher, gross. But I guess the bartender we’ve hired is really strict about it, and if he sees it, he’ll kick you out. So, if you DO want to bring airplane bottles or anything, make sure you drink them in the bathroom. And save me one.
It’s a cash bar, but we will be serving some yummy foods Christine (Beth) Curtiss is preparing for us. The menu will include some delicacies like fruits and veggies, antipasti platter, salmon, shrimp, meatballs, cheese plate (The good stuff, no worries!) and crackers… YUM!
There will be eating, drinking, dancing, laughing, a short awards program and a lot of memory making.

Hello all!
The invitations have been finalized, and planning is underway! They are being sent out next week, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for them! YAY!
The reunion committee is hard at work helping to make this event a night we will never forget! (and not just because of all the alcohol consumption!!)
I have already received several emails from people offering to help in various aspects, and i CANNOT thank you enough! Every little bit of help on this is greatly appreciated on our end, we cannot do this without you!
For those of you who WANT to help but not really wanting to be overly involved, that's fine, i have a job for you! Please take some time to check out our list of the missing, and if you see somebody on that list that you know, or that you keep in contact with, perhaps you work with them or live close to them, or maybe your mothers are in the same quilting club... if you could please contact them and let them know that we are trying desperately to find them, because we do NOT want them to miss out on this ONCE IN A LIFETIME occasion! We would greatly appreciate it!

What type of music, you ask? it can be ANYTHING! I'm particularly fond of playing some of the old-school tunes we listened to back in the day (pre-iPod era, so, on our walkmen and discmen!)... but also anything you just really love to dance to! Once you have your request, please email them to BreAnne Benzel, at BreAnneNicole@Hotmail.com.
We are also trying to collect photos/video clips from high school or prior. These will be put into a slide show for the night of, and we want to be sure we are representing everyone! SO, if you have some great photos, scan 'em and send 'em along! I NEED PHOTOS!
hey all!
So, we're going to start to put together a slide show loop for the reunion, and i want to start collecting early!
If you guys have old photos you want included (from jr. high, high school on) please scan and email to me at mandyhoov@hotmail.com (please make sure they are high enough resolution to look good but nothing too big that hotmail will kick me off for being over the limit! :) )
i want to be sure everyone is included in this, so send me your goods!

AUGUST 29TH, 2009!!
THE DATE IS SET! FINALLY!
Thanks to everyone for your patience, the date is FINALLY set!
The Kamiak High School Class of 1999 10-Year Reunion will be held at SODO Pop in downtown Seattle (details to come!) on Saturday August 29th, 2009!
Please review the LIST OF THE MISSING and let these folks know either with an email or phone call!

almost there!
going to check out the potential venue today! will let you all know this week what we find out! it's getting close!!!!!!
we're trying to keep the tickets as CHEAP as possible by picking a smaller venue, and this one i'm viewing tonight seems ideal... making tix run just around $60 per, as opposed to the $100 most reunions face!!

Quick Update
Hi All!
i know a lot of you are getting frustrated that we haven't set a date for the reunion yet -- we are frustrated too! But unfortunately, we haven't found a venue that we are satisfied with, and we don't want the reunion to be a bust...
We think we MAY have found "The Place", and we're in the works with the Reunion company to get things set. as SOON as i know anything, i'll let you all know!

ps, the reunion WILL be on a Saturday, even if i have to pay the extra deposit myself!! so no worries for those of you coming in from out of town!
PPS, did you guys know there was a movie out about our graduating class?? how cool! :)
